Honiton Bowling Club hosted their Ladies Invitation match, as several other fixtures fell victim to the heatwave.
And the round-robin competition saw teams from Bridport, Budleigh, Feniton, Madeira, Sidmouth and seven from Honiton battling it out for honours.
It proved home sweet home for winners Ann Dredge, Heather Chambers and Sue Willcox, who finished with a score of plus-32 ahead of Honiton clubmates Joan Mackintosh, S Rolfe and Sue Evans (plus-19).
The ladies took a break halfway through the match to enjoy a lovely cream tea, with proceeds from a raffle being donated to the club's charity of the year, Admiral Nurses.
A team travelled to Wellington to play a mixed friendly triples match, with J Granger, D Courtney and G Osborne claiming a 20-19 win on their rink as Honiton went down 79-53 overall.
