Honiton Bowling Club hosted a touring team from Braunton, with seven rinks of four players needed, which encouraged five new bowlers to take part, Jane Bartlett, Linda Dalton, Val Lloyd, June Vile and Theresa Carrington.
Honiton won the match (119 - 94). Top rink was T Tooley, J Granger, J Sherwood and B Adlem (21 – 10). Before returning home, members of Braunton enjoyed a meal prepared by D Courtney and D Hawkins.
In other matches, Feniton visited Honiton to play a Mixed Friendly match but this had to be abandoned at 16 ends due to rain. The score at this point stood at Honiton 53, Feniton 70. Top rink L Crook, I Dennison, D Courtney, G Osborne (19 - 16).
Honiton members travelled to Bradninch to play a Mixed Triples match and the final score was Honiton 49 Bradninch 61. Top Rink R Maddox, J Granger, D Morley (16 - 10).
