Pauline Willis completed a hat-trick of victories at Axe Cliff Golf Club, as her sensational round of nett 68 picked up the Vets Bowl, Monthly Medal and the second round of the Freddie Newbury Putting Cup. Jo Hopgood was second in the Medal and Sandra Walker runner-up in the Vets Bowl.
The Seniors lost a tight match 3-2 away at Wheathill, drawing the series overall. Philip Howse got off to a great start in the Winter League, scoring 40 points. Tony Snell and Eggman Paul Curtin were hot on his heels with 39 each. Tony took the second spot on countback.
The Men’s Section also started their Winter League playing in pairs and as a Medal event. Talk about keeping it in the family, with the Pritchard's winning on a nett 65, just beating the Burraston's on nett 68. Dave Morgan and Ben Waller, I don’t think they are related, took third spot on 70.
