THE next generation of talent at Somerset County Cricket Club will be unveiled over the next few weeks, as young players sign up for the club’s academy in 2023.
Thomas Rew has been announced as part of the new intake and the wicket-keeping batsman from King’s College in Taunton is naturally thrilled to take his cricketing journey to the next level.
Rew, who plays club cricket for Taunton St Andrews, began his sporting journey with some family help and many happy hours in the nets.
He told the Somerset CCC website: “I started playing cricket when I was really young with my older brother James.
“That really helped, and Dad would throw us balls in the nets. We just picked up a bat and learned to hit the ball.”
Good luck in your new adventure Thomas and to all players joining the Somerset academy this summer.
