In the Quarter final of the National Yetton Trophy, Honiton overcame Dolphin Bowling Club from Poole in Dorset, winning the match 86 - 64.
Honiton members Carol Armitage, Jenny Baker, Rita Barwick, Carole Binmore, Judith Broom, Heather Chambers, Lynda Dommett, Sue Evans, Julie Grant, Di Hawkins, Joan Heard, Rosemary Hirons, Berry Maynard, Di Morley, Janet Sherwood, Yvonne Rayner and Yvonne Williams will now play Norfolk BC in the National Semi Final, and a repeat of last year’s Semi Final when Norfolk were the victors and went on to win the National Championship Yetton Final.
The Semi Final is to be played on February 18 on a neutral green of Sutton Bowling Club in South London
In the Foxlands Yellow League, Honiton Lacemakers ladies defeated the Torbay Tigers 81 – 46, gaining nine points.
Members of Honiton travelled away to Sidmouth to win a close mixed friendly match, 46 - 41. Top rink: E Richardson, B Nichols, J Mackintosh, J Richardson (15 - 9). In the other mixed friendly match, members of Severals BC visited the club, with Honiton winning 56 – 39. Top rink: J Granger, J Foxwell, R Newbury, R Russell (23 - 10).
