After a long and shivering winter, Devon anglers are beginning to see signs of the better weather to come.
Honiton Sea Angling Club is getting in the mood with a presentation evening at the end of the month and in a sign of things to come for the future, young member Jake landed a personal best Wrasse of 1lb 14 oz.
Exmouth Sea Angling Club report that their members are finding plenty of Bull Huss in their monthly species competition.
The Bristol Channel boats are still reporting plenty of Rays coming to the boats along with Spurdogs and the first of this years Smoothhounds. There seems to be a good spring run of Coddling this year for the boats fishing closer to the shoreline, as well as for shore anglers.
Newton Abbot’s Chris Wagstaff had a session on the shingle to the east of our region, catching some lovely Thornback Rays and a surprise early Dover Sole.
