Axminster Bowls Club Ladies Captain Ann Clayton received her County Badge and then played for the Devon Ladies against I.O.W. Ladies.
Despite her playing in a winning rink, the match was won by I.O.W. Ladies and many thanks to the hosts, Bridport Bowls Club.
Axminster BC played two recent Over 60’s matches, the first was at home against Exonia Bowls Club and a fine win (36-25). Winning rinks were Jack Hare, Doug Looskan and Bob Sherborne (21-11) and John Ellis, David Harris and John Hill (15-14).
The second match was a trip to Pinches Park, with Axminster scraping to a (28-27) win. The winning rink on this occasion was Jack Hare, Doug Looskan and Bob Sherborne (17-10).
Axminster also entertained Ottery St Mary BC and had a very narrow win (55-53), with the winning rinks being Anne Burn, John Hill and Bob Sherborne (21-9), and Bob Hellier, Val Mellor and Allan Gyngell (20-14).
