The creative seniors at Axe Cliff Golf Club adjusted to playing off the red tees in the Brian Abbott Foursomes and it was the duo of Terry Atkins and Dave Morgan who emerged the strongest, winning with 46 points, writes Dave Bruce.
The minor places went to Mike Wickins and Peter Petherbridge (45), and Alan Morgan and Chris Alexander (44).
The recent lessons paid off for Kevin Miller, as he compiled a lovely nett 67 to win Division 1 of the Monthly Medal. John Purdy picked up the Division 2 crown.
In the Midweek Mashers Roll Up, Colin Hales is beginning to show his class, winning with 30 pts over Mike Chadwick on 29 and Geoff Greeenslade on 24.
Harvey Gibbons won Division 1 of the August Medal with a terrific nett 68, while Sam Goodier was equally impressive in winning Division 2 on nett 67, not bad scoring after Storm Antoni.
