The last weekend of August saw the competition finals for Axminster Bowling Club.
The 3 wood drawn pairs game between Phillipa White and David Harris against Doug Looskan and Les Clark was won by Doug and Les, who between the two of them had a combined age of 183!
The 4 wood singles game between Doug and Ken Webster was won by Ken, which earns him the title of Club Men’s Champion. The 4 wood open singles match between Doug and David Harris was won by David in a closely fought game.
For the most part, the weather was kind to the bowlers, despite a couple of interrupting showers and it must be said that all bowlers taking part played their best games of the season so far. If you are interested in trying bowls, please contact Bob Sherborne on 01297 33094 for more information.
