Monthly social rides for Axe Valley Pedallers in August and September were led by Andy Duncan and Trevor Yates; Andy's to Broadwindsor and Trevor's from Ottery St Mary to Exmouth.

Weekly Sunday morning brisk rides have toggled between road and off road excursions. Gravel rides out to Mutters Moor, Hardown Hill and Woodbury Common have incorporated as many off-road sections as possible. These relatively short rides always result in heavy legs, usually in the order of 3-4 hours in duration. It's refreshing to get away from the traffic and to explore the countryside.

Early September took riders on a quick 35mile loop into the Blackdown Hills, taking in Whitestaunton, Bishopswood and Churchinford - Indian Summer cycling at its best.

As ever, the weekday rides, usually Monday, Wednesday and Friday, are a big draw for those in the Axe Valley with free daytime hours. For joining an AVP ride, contact axevalleypedallers.co.uk
