John Davis writes for the Midweek Herald - Beer Albion 4 Ottery St. Mary 2.
After an even first half, Beer came on strong after the break to secure their second home win of the season.
The game got away to a hectic start with a goal for each side in the opening six minutes.
First, Tony Pinder latched on to a long through ball to put Beer ahead and then Seb Copp slotted home a penalty kick for Ottery after he had been brought down in the box.
There were chances for both sides as the game continued at pace before the home side went 2-1 ahead through a George Harwood spot kick after an Ottery defender had been judged to have handled inside the box.
It took Ottery only two minutes from the re-start to level the scores again. A misplaced pass was intercepted by Ethan Mathews who ran on to lift it past Max Hayward as the Beer goalkeeper came off his line.
Beer then began to dominate in midfield and they deservedly edged in front again on the hour. A low cross from the right was cut back into the goalmouth and Liam Cox bravely forced the ball over the line through a mass of defenders.
At the other end, Hayward had to be out quickly to smother the ball as Mathews burst through again before Beer took a two-goal lead when a shot from Billy Knox was only parried by Ottery goalkeeper Tom Seymour and substitute Ed Kenworthy netted the rebound.
Beer continued to look strongest at the close and almost added a fifth goal when Aaron Daniels shot just wide.
