The Lively Lady Social evening took place at Beer Social Club between Honiton Sea Angling Club and Beer and District SAA.

Fishing events had already been staged by the two local clubs in 2009. In March and June the two boat matches had taken place off Beer and, after the first heat, Beer had a small lead. Honiton dominated the second heat and ran out winners by some 250 per cent. The best fish from these two heats went to Andy Smitherman from Beer and district with a pout of just over 3lb.

In August the two teams again met for the shore fixture on Chesil Beach. Honiton just nudged Beer to second spot by just over 200 per cent. The third fixture saw both teams pick members for darts, a pub quiz and skittles. Honiton triumphed, by winning the skittles by a single point.
