Feniton II defeated Topsham St James II by 46 runs when the pair met at Acland Park.

It was Neil Anning who took the individual honours for the home side as he score 88 from the opening slot – he and fellow opener Pete Avery took the score to 146 before Anning departed.

Avery went on to score 30 and Tom Gurney chipped in with 35. Gurney and Stuart Bright (19) added 61 for the fifth wicket and Feniton were eventually all out for 258 with three deliveries of their 45 overs remaining.

The Topsham St James reply was led by a superb century from Daniel Armstrong who hit 10 fours and one six in a knock of 114. However, wickets fell at regular intervals at the other end as the visitors’ were ultimately bowled out for 212 in the final over.

Stuart Bright bowled his usual discipline line and length to finish with figures of 2-9 from six overs. Kevin Brandon claimed three wickets for 21 runs and both Jack Tucker and Francis Perryman also claimed a wicket before Anning completed his fine all-round shift by taking three wickets for 15 runs in 2.3 overs.
