Anniversary Salver success for Hughes and Murray at Honiton

Sixty-eight seniors contested the Anniversary Salver on a cold and breezy day at Honiton where there was also a mix of sun and hail, writes Andy Wagner.

This did not stop one pair from running away with the silverware in the four-ball better-ball event.

David Hughes and Ashley Murray scored a creditable 40 points and were each presented with a salver by Bob Underwood, the seniors captain.

Jim Wallis and Alec Lynn were runners-up with 37 points, separated only on count back from the pairs of Don Stroud and Ron Jones, David Morgan and David Ive with Buss Harris and Howard Pritchard taking the last prize.
