AVR speedies Matt Clist, Patick Devine-Wright and Tim Lenton cruised across Dartmoor (nearly 30 miles from Ivybridge to Belstone via Postbridge) on Saturday, writes Diane Newton.
They were hampered by AVR not-so-speedies Amy Greenhalgh and Garry Perratt plus hanger-on Alan Knight until Belstone, three hours in, when the latter three dropped out and let the fast boys open the throttle and Do Their Thang!
Matt and Patrick decided to detour via Steeperton Tor so Tim finished first in exactly five hours. The two others took a scenic route in from Belstone Tor and finished 11 minutes later.
We look forward to seeing in due course just how quickly the Big Guns can do it at their own pace the whole way. All of them thoroughly enjoyed their runs, despite half not getting as far as they’d hoped.
