This Sunday was the fourth staging of the duathlon series, writes Chris Keeffe

Four members of Axe Valley Running Club braved the elements with great performances from Simon Davies - to be first overall in a time of 53:29 - and Eleanor Wood, who crossed the line as first female with her time being 1:13:34.

Antony Chadwick’s time was 1:03.02 and Chris Polley finished in 1:06.38.

In other club news, three AVRs travelled to Escot to complete the Resolution Run in aid of The Stroke Association. The 5k figure-of-eight course made the most of the glorious landscape around the house and surrounding countryside and woodland. Carolyn Nation chose to complete the 10k in a terrific time of 1:09:04, whilst Denise Burges completed the 5k in 35:18 and Sam Summers achieved a new personal best for the distance, finishing in a time of 1:20:24.
