Whilst most of us were maybe having a lie in on New Year’s Day, a few hardy souls thought that a race would be a brilliant start to the New Year and ran the Chard Flyer 10K, writes Dave Mutter.

A couple of AVRs had a go with James Sibley the first AVR home.

Sibley came in 22nd in 45:2, very closely followed by Eleanor Wood who was 26th overall and first W55 taking 46:34.

Both then travelled home with a smug look having finished the race whilst many were still slumbering!
