AVR members amongst record turnout for 2019 Ottery 10k

Perfect conditions welcomed the 15 AVRs, who were amongst the record number of 335 who took part in the Ottery 10k organised by Honiton RC, writes Dave Mutter.
The race, which started and finished at Ottery Cricket Club, was all on-road apart from a last circuit of the cricket ground - outside the boundary, of course!
First home for AVR was Duncan Staddon, finishing sixth overall in a time of 35:55. He was closely followed by closely followed by Terry Emmett, who was ninth in 36:29 and Rob Collier, 14th in 37:51.
Other AVR times were: Rupert Pady, 31st, 41:16; Karen Eyre, 60th, 44:59; Angela Kerr, 131st, 52:42; Kevin Feeney - in his first comeback race after a long injury, 151st, 54:18; Sarah Shepley, 173rd, 56:00; Mark Day, 237th, 61:12; Lesley Adams, 247th, 62:20 and Vicky Austin, 264th, 64:22.
Diane Newton finished 282nd in 65:03, her fastest 10k for five years. Martin Owen was 289th in a time of 65:45 while Maxine Sweetman and Aileen Heal finished together, coming home 326th in 73:16.
