Only the hardy or daft would have turned out to run the Haselbury Trail 10k on a very wet and windy Wednesday evening, writes Dave Mutter.

John Blackledge and Eleanor Wood had nothing better to do, so they ran!

The winner was Chris McMillan of Weston AC in a time of 37:05. John, who is back to great form, had not run this race for 10 years and was delighted to have performed so well getting a brilliant time of 45:16 in 19th place.

Eleanor was happy to be first Lady in 51:40, 52nd winning a lovely piece of Ham-stone rock and a cheeky bottle of wine.

Thanks, to Crewkerne Running Club, for such a great race attracting 148 runners.
