Five Axe Valley Runners descended on Weymouth for the 2008 Egdon Easy 10k.

Five Axe Valley Runners descended on Weymouth for the 2008 Egdon Easy 10k. It was a very flat course, but the swirling winds made for an interesting race. Luke Reed was the first Axe Valley Runner home 21st in 39:14, a new PB by 30 seconds, most probably something to do with overcoming his stitch saga that he has encountered in his last few races. Next home was the ever-improving Chris Keefe, 33rd overall and 2nd male under 19 in 40:35, a new PB by one and a half minutes. Then came Geoff Woodward. After a marathon shift at work he still managed to finish 65th in 43:40. Geoff was closely followed by the club's new up and coming female runner, Emma Kiernan. She was 67th and first female under 19 in a new PB of 43:50 which was a fantastic achievement as she ran the last 3k with her hands on her hips due to suffering with stitch. Steve Retro Reynolds was the final AVR, 72nd in 44:32, just outside his PB which was set here last year. All in all it was a very successful run and the group would like to thank Richard Orme along with all of the other organisers at Egdon Heath Harriers for a very enjoyable evening.
