The Cappadocia Ultra in Turkey is part of the Ultra Trail World Tour and there are three different distances: 119km, 63km and 38km, writes Dave Mutter.
The trails go through the most amazing landscapes with fairy chimneys and caves. A lot of climbing – even the short trail, 38k, which Ragnhild Richards ran, has over 1000 metres of climbing.
The race is superbly organised with free transfers from two local airports, two free meals included, discounts on excursions and balloon flights plus great medals and T-shirts.
It’s also super friendly and welcoming. Ragnhild completed the event in a time of 5:34 to finish fourth in her age group and 355th out of just under 1,000 overall. She said it was lots of fun and is highly recommended.
