AVR’s Richard Jackson runs well at Salcombe

On Saturday, in the heat, AVR’s Richard Jackson ran the Head to Head undulating multi-terrain half marathon near Salcombe, an event that boasted stunning views of Hope Cove, but really serious ascents and descents. Richard ran well to finish 40th with his time being 2:30:38.

Peter Johns won the AVR Junior April handicap in 12:57 followed by Sammie d’Albertanson, 16:49, and Harvey Burrough, third, 16:04.

Sam Eyre leads the current junior rankings with 67 points and is being chased down by Peter Johns, 60, and Holly Eyre, 57.

Ferenc Kovacs won the senior handicap in 24:35 with Chris Keeffe finishing second in 23:29 and Robert Kerr was third in 29:45.

Andrew Hartnell leads the current senior rankings with 67 points. He is followed by Anthony Chadwick, 58, and Kevin Feeney, 57.

Meanwhile, another AVR, David Cooke, ran a ‘comeback’ track 400 metres at Yeovil in a new PB of 67:28.
