AVR takes on Britain's best Trail Marathon

Axe Valley Runner Tim Sibley travelled to Sydling St. Nicholas, Dorset to take part in the Giants Head Marathon, voted Britain's best Trail Marathon, and finished in 4hrs 33mins, 57th place out of 378 finishers. 

In Berkshire, Cliff Marriott and a team of “Saucy Pirates” entered the “Endure 24” 24 hour running event. There were teams of 5 runners and Cliff managed 5 laps of 5 miles each. 

Terry Emmett, Joel Seward and Ron Seward met with considerable success in the Martock 10 km run. In a field of 330, Terry finished 3rd overall and first MV40 in a superb time of 34:06.  Joel was 7th overall and 2nd MV30 in an impressive 35:36, whilst Ron clocked an excellent 47:09 to snaffle the prize for 1st MV 70.  

Wayne Loveridge of Chard RRC won the latest Seaton parkrun in 17:25 with George Burrows 2nd, 19:04 and AVR’s Simon Dimmock 3rd. Eleanor Wood was the 1st female home in 22:20.
