In his first race in the USA, AVR runner Matt Morbey entered the 9th Blazer Dash 5K race at Valdosta State University in Georgia, writes Dave Mutter.
To avoid the fierce summer heat the race started at 7.30am and Matt was amazed to discover that the usual course marshals were all replaced by the local police department in their cars blocking off roads for the runners!
Matt was delighted to finish second in the male 18-29 category and second overall in 18:29.
Is this the start of an AVR takeover of America?
