Three Axe Valley Runners made the long journey up to North Wales for the 35th Marathon Eyri or Snowdonia Marathon, writes Dave Mutter.
Considered by some to be the best marathon in the UK, it is also a very challenging route with very steep ascents throughout as it circles Snowdon.
Alan Morbey and Margaret Pearce ran together, finishing 1027th and 1028th in 4:27:08, with Angela Kerr 1833rd, 5:18:09. There were 2210 finishers.
Meanwhile, AVR’s Jake Smith smashed his PB at the latest Seaton Parkrun, winning in a time of 15:46. Simon Fisher of Oxford City AC was second in 17:22 and Oliver Thorogood of Aberystwyth AC finished third in 18:28.
The first lady home was Alexandra Cutts of SWRR, seventh overall in 19:33
