Eight AVRs travelled down to Stover School for the Templer 10 race on Sunday, a 10-mile flattish run around the school grounds and Stover Country Park, writes Dave Mutter.
The race was won by Arran Tocknell of Torbay Tri Club in 59.01. First home for AVR was Duncan Staddon, finishing 12th in 1:03:53 and also second Vet 40.
The next AVR home was Rob Collier, 16th, 1:05:30 followed by Terry Emmett, 21st, 1:07:02 and first Vet 35 and then Matt Hewer, 22nd, 1:07:10, and these four runners were the second men’s team to finish behind Torbay Tri Club.
Next home was Joel Seward 71st, 1:16:50 followed by Eleanor Wood 80th, 1:18.00 and first Vet 60. Diane Newton was pleased to finish in 1:53:31, taking nearly 10 minutes off her off-road PB time, second FV65. Graham Newton, struggling with an injury, finished in 1:55:55 but in the end was very pleased to manage to finish the course.
There were 268 finishers. Thank you to Teignbridge Trotters for putting on such a well organised event.
