The lovely running weather on Sunday was very welcome for the runners of the Tavy 13, a half marathon on roads and tracks starting in Tavistock, before heading out on to Dartmoor, writes Chris Keeffe.
AVR member Graham Newton lined up with the 500 other runners on the start line at Tavistock college, where they ran a lap of the running track before heading out to the beautiful but very steep hills of the moor, and then returning to complete the race by running a final lap around the track.
Graham was very pleased with his effort finishing in 1:43:07 to win the men’s
over 65 category prize, beating the over 60 winners time by a full two minutes.
