The Haytor Heller is a popular, well established circular six-mile moorland race on Dartmoor, and now in its 33rd year, writes Dave Mutter

A rain shower before the start and overcast skies meant perfect running conditions for the first half of the race.

The hot afternoon sun soon returned however, to challenge most of the runners as they started the first main ascent of the race up to Hound Tor before returning across the moor to once again climb back up to the Haytor rocks.

The first AVR home was Tim Lenton, who crossed the line as fifth overall in a time of 43:30 and Tim was also the first MV40.

Richard Hale was 119th out of 227 in 1:06:19 and was sixth in the MV60 category.
