The Axe Cliff ladies played a County Prize Stableford competition, and, despite an autumnal feel to the morning and the greens being top dressed there were some close scores, writes Pete Motson.
Margaret Kenchington, with a score of 34 points, took first place and a point behind, with 33, was Sandra Walker. Third was Stella Thompson with 31.
In other Axe Cliff news the senior section played their Quarterly Cup match and it produced another close encounter with the eventual winner being Nigel Garwood with 32 points. The runner-up was Gilbert Cox with 31, and 30 points saw Alan Vincent take third place.
