Axe Cliff ladies Australian Spoons victory for Dack and Kenchington

The Axe Cliff ladies played the initial qualifying round for the Australian Spoons which is a stableford foursomes tournament for handicaps of 15 and over, writes Pete Motson.

It was a close contest throughout with countback called into play to determine the winners.

Janet Dack and Margaret Kenchington took the honours from Helen Gaudie and Anne Jarvis with third spot bagged by Barbara Cummings and Jo Donmall.

The ladies can enter throughout the qualifying period and the pair returning the best score at the closing date are eligible for the regional final at Long Sutton Golf Club in July.
