Axe Cliff ladies enjoy fine Devon League win over Woodbury On Monday, with the lovely warm , sunny and ideal golfing weather ,with little wind, saw Axe Cliff ladies winning all seven matches in their Devon League home meeting with Woodbury Park, writes Dave Bruce.
Two days later the ladies competed, and I believe every lady in the section, which numbers 16, played, even out two youngsters got involved – not eligible because of age, (but they played together) in a County Vets qualifying foursomes competition.
The competition played for the The Killard Leavy trophy and the winners from midweek return to Axe Cliff for the final which is to be held on September 1, later this year. Caroline Bond and Stella Thompson took the honours with 32 points while second were Sandra Walker and Margaret Kenchington with 29 points.
