Axe Cliff lady captain wins the Lorraine Cup

The Axe Cliff ladies played for an extra medal and also the Lorraine Cup, writes Janet Dack.
This Cup can only be competed for by players who have won medals over the past year.
The winner with a nett 70 was lady captain Sandra Walker thus reducing her handicap from 17 to 15.9.
The captain was also the medal winner with Margaret Kenchington (22) in second place with a nett 73.
Last Wednesday the ladies were successful in their second attempt to play for the Scratch and Handicap Cups as previously they had been abandoned due to heavy sea mist.
The winner of the Scratch Cup, with a gross 84 - nett 72, was Helen Kenworthy.
The Handicap Cup was won by Alison Cook with a nett 79 beating Di Rogers also with a nett 79 on the back nine.
