The Axe Cliff captain, Geoff Wake, held his Captain’s Prize Day recently

The Axe Cliff captain, Geoff Wake, held his Captain’s Prize Day recently.

In the men’s section there was Division One success for Verdun Trott with41 points.

Second was Andy Trivett with 40 points and countback over the last nine was used to see Steve Berry (39 points) edge out Johnny Potter (39) for third place.

In the ladies section it was Sandra Walker who took the plaudits.

The seniors section was won by Alan Morgan.

There were eight twos scored by Alan Morgan, Alan Kenworthy, Alex Palmer, Chris Glover (twice), Paul Curtin, Steve Berry and Verdun Trott.

Meanwhile the Axe Cliff ladies have also contested the Lorraine Cup and EG Medal.

It led to Sandra Walker winning the Lorraine Cup with Helen Kenworthy coming second.

The medal event also saw a similar outcome with Walker first and Kenworthy second and Bee Sammons finished in third spot.

The Axe Cliff Cup was also played for as well as seventh round of the EG Medal series. This produced a win for Jo Donamall with Margaret Kenchington in second and Helen Kenworthy, third.
