The first medal of the new season at Axe Cliff, took place over the May bank holiday weekend, writes Tristan Wakeley.

With plenty of other things happening, including away matches for the club B team and Palairet team, it meant a reduced number of 12 playing in the medal meeting.

However, despite the low numbers there were some excellent scores. In Division Two, Dave Morgan took third spot with a nett 73. Second was Anthony Hellier with his 72 including the lone two of the day, scored on the 11th.

The winning Division Two score came from the evergreen Nigel Pritchard with a brace of tidy gross 41's to give him a nett 69.

Division One was also nip and tuck for the top spots with a single shot been the difference. Club volunteer and chief tee cutter, Andy Moore, was the one to miss out with a nett 70 with two birdies to his name, but the top spot went to Chris Glover with an impressive nett 69.
