Axe Cliff men keenly contest latest monthly medal

The first division was won by Anthony Hellier with a net 69.

Second was Steve Anning with his net 70. Division Two was claimed by Cyril Hellier with John Collins second. Anthony Hellier scored the day’s only two.

The men also played a monthly stableford and this resulted in a win for Jim Hong with 38 edging out Alex Palmer on the back nine. Alex Todd was third with 36 points.

There were two players who holed in two, Alan Kenworthy and Alex Palmer.

Honiton monthly stableford success for Ed Reece

The monthly stableford provided a route back to the bread and butter games at Honiton and there was a generous turn out for event, writes Andy Wagner.

The course was exposed as scores were high. Division One saw Ed Reece romp home with 43 points ahead of Alan Jackson and Dave Carnal - no slouches these, with 38 points each.

There was a similar occurrence in Division Two with J Meads taking the honours with a score of 40 points.

Sid Martin was second with 39 and Brian Morrison third with 38.
