It’s been another busy time for the Axe Cliff ladies who have returned some excellent results, writes Dave Bruce.

Firstly, Jo Donmall and Margaret Kenchington played the second round of the Vets Inter Club knockout competition against a pair from Dainton Park at Tiverton where they emerged as winners in a close contest and so now head into a third round tie against opposition and at a venue yet to be announced. For that game the weather was hot and sunny with the course in good condition. However, in just a couple of days, the weather changed to a cooler, misty and drizzly day back at home for the monthly medal and the first round of the Axe Cliff Cup.

The scores were very close with the first two separated on countback on a nett 78 with Helen Kenworthy just beating Jo Donmall. Not far behind, on a nett 80, came Barbara Cummings.
