Axe Cliff’s Andrew Hellier in fine form

The Axe Cliff men played the Haven Cup in pairs with a medal format, and, in a close competition, brothers Andrew and Anthony Hellier won with a very good score of 64.6 nett.
In second spot, right on their heels, were Richard Gibbons and Andy Moore with a nett 65. Both Nigel Pritchard and Alan Morgan recorded a brace of twos and there were also twos scored by Andy Moore and Richard Gibbons.
The June Medal was won by Chris Glove on nett 72, finishing well ahead of second placed Stuart Mackie on nett 78. Just the one two was recorded and it was scored by Craig Trivett. The Dart/Hazelwood competitions were played on same day with Division One players competing for the Hazelwood and Division Two players competing for the Dart. The Hazelwood Cup winner was the in-form Andrew Hellier with a nett 71 from Ian Burraston, just behind on nett 73.
The Dart Cup was also closely fought for with Jason Farrant edging it from Steve Reed with a nett 73 and 74 respectively. Again only one two was recorded and that was scored by the Royal Mail’s Paul Clode.
