Axe Cliff men’s section played round ten, the final round of their Winter League, writes Pete Motson.
The winner, with a net 67, was Anthony Hellier with a net 67. The minor places were decided by countback across the back nine with Tom Spemncer ending up as the runner-up and Stuart Mackie having to settle for third place after both scored net 68s.
Mackie had the last laugh though, for he was crowned overall Winter League champion. Well done, Stuart. There were three twos scored by Alan Kenworthy, Neil Jones, and Anthony Hellier.
The ladies section did play their Winter League match last week but, the results are not available.
