Alongside the fantastic news that netball can make a return at the end of March, Axe Vale Netball Club has crossed a continent in their awesome global challenge.
Club players, with their family and friends, were set the epic task of covering the distance from East Devon to Canberra in Australia.
Within the first week of a challenge that would surpass 17,000 kilometres, the club had travelled the virtual distance into Western Europe, passing through Switzerland in the second week.
Participants aged from 8 – 80 years reached 10% of the target when they passed Florence in Italy and they are now just shy of 2,000km, far enough to reach Turkey.
It all means the players will be feeling fit and ready when the current lockdown restrictions ease on March 29, with England Netball confirming the sport can return to an outdoor setting.
