Axe Valley Runner Diana Burn completed St Neots Half Marathon in slightly chilly and windy conditions, but the sun was shining. She was very pleased with her performance with a PB of 2 hours 12 mins and was also first in her age category.

24 AVR’s travelled to Castle Drogo for the Drogo 10 race organised by South West Road Runners, a challenging 10-mile multi-terrain race that starts and finishes in the shadow of the magnificent Castle Drogo.

The runners were rewarded with glorious Autumn sunshine and well-earned refreshments. Jack Broom was 1st AVR, 8th overall (1:08:29) in a field of 347. Several AVR's collected prizes, Rob Collier 21st (1:14:10) 1st male vet 50, Eleanor Wood 66th (1:26:23) 1st lady vet 60.

In the Team Competitions Kerry Board/Sue Hayes were 1st Female Vets 45; Rob Collier/Rupert Pady 1st Male Vets 50; Andy West/ Ian Kinnersley 1st Male Vets 60 and Kevin Feeney/John Larcombe 1st Male Vets 65.

James Denne of Gloucester AC won the latest Seaton parkrun in 16:00 with Wayne Loveridge 2nd, 16:36 and AVR’s Joel Seward 3rd in 17:33.

Away from Seaton, Paula and David Cooke ran the Stretford (Manchester) parkrun together in 29m 40s, which was an all-time parkrun PB for Paula. Also, Gill and Jon Day ran the Tamar Trails parkrun just outside Tavistock and were pleasantly surprised to see two AVR Friends at the start – Susie and Joe Pitt. Jon was 1st in age group, 6th overall in 21:32, a dog-assisted Susie Pitt was 36th in 27:17 and Gill was 49th in 30:46 out of 78 finishers.
