City Runs traditionally hold their race Fast Friday on Good Friday each year, a 10k normally run along the Quay in Exeter.
This time it was moved to Exeter Racecourse and, with the course being at the top of Haldon Hill, the final 500m was all uphill and into the stiff breeze. However, two runners from AVR handled the conditions superbly well and won their respective Age Categories, Angela Kerr won the 65+ category in 51:54; Rob Collier came back first in the 50 to 54 age range in 38:18 also.
Other results were Jack Broom 36:06, 22nd; Terry Emmett 36:10, 24th; Matt Hewer 39:46, 7th 40+; Martin Kerr 1:08:37, 2nd 70+. It worth noting that this was Jack’s first race and shows real promise for the future.
Two AVR’s took part in the afternoon run, with wind behind this time, Matt Orsman 17:54, 4th 40+ and Lee Moran 18:20, 5th 40+.
