Luke Reed of Axe Valley Runner left home in the early hours last Sunday to jounrey to the Cotwolds water park for a sprint Triathlon, writes Dave Mutter.

With a very heavy shower an hour prior to the race it made conditions on the bike slightly difficult but Luke was very pleased to finish 24th overall out of 459 and 4th in his age group.

He completed the 750m lake swim in 12.53, 20k bike in 30.18 and 5k run in 18.18 giving him an overall time of 1.03.27.

Richard Easton also continued his excellent season finishing 7th overall in 58.57 and first in his age group.

Another very content Axe Valley runner is Harry Moore who landed the old runner trophy in the Ash Fearsome Five run for the fourth year on the trot. He completed the five mile race in 74:14.

Wilf Walsh was also delighted with his performance in the inaugural Maidenhead Half Marathon.

He was 540th out of 1650 in 1:47:47 and puts down his success to the hill and beach training during the Summer.

Another traveller was Lesley Adams who completed the 5K Cannon Hill parkrun in Birmingham in 31:32.
