This year marks 75 years since the Axe Yacht Club was formed.
Many of the club members have given their time and effort freely over this time to create the facilities that can be seen today at the mouth of the River Axe.
The current 800 plus membership enjoys many varied water- based activities from dinghy and cruiser sailing to motor boating and fishing.
Members enjoy a busy racing and varied social programme. The club is affiliated to the Royal Yachting Association and runs a number of RYA approved training courses each year with places available to non members.
To celebrate 75 years the members will have a ‘Parade of Sail’ on Saturday, July 9, starting at 11.30am that can be viewed anywhere along Seaton sea front (dependant on weather conditions).
