June has seen a full programme of racing at Axe Yacht Club, writes Amanda Parker.
Eight boats took part in the cruiser passage race to Dartmouth at the start of the month.
Mark Jenkins led from the start on Roobarb closely followed by David Haywood on Canna.
By 6pm they were within two miles of the finish, but could not reach the finishing line due to a very light wind and strong east flowing tide!
Of the eight starters, two retired and six reported positions at 4pm, which was taken as the finish of the race, with Roobarb first on corrected times.

Sixteen competitors took part in the June dinghy series, with Michael Crees finishing in first place with eight points from five races. Cadet Harry Newbery sailed well throughout the series and was only four points behind in second.
Races three and four of the River Race Series were completed on the River Axe. Race three was also the ‘Round the Island’ Cup race, which was won by David Barnett sailing his Lymington Skow, Merhaba.
The new Saturday dinghy series, which will run throughout the season, also got underway in June.
This series aims to introduce less experienced adults and cadets to dinghy racing. Holly Thompson and Tom Clayton are currently joint leaders of the series with one win each.
