Archant

The Axminster indoor bowling season ended in disappointing fashion for cancellations led to a premature end of campaign, writes David Harris.

If the lack of end of term matches to report is a negative one huge positive to come from the indoor season is that the club are rightly mighty proud of young members Stephen Apsey and James Windsor.

Stephen is away at University, but both he and James have represented the county during the winter.

James excelled last weekend when he secured the Devon Under-21 title, defeating Exonia bowler Scott Eveleigh in a closely contested county final. After two exciting sets the match was decided on a tie-break in favour of James.

Given that he is still only 17, James has plenty of opportunity to add his name again to the trophy! Many congratulations to James from us all at Axminster Bowls Club.
