The three mixed friendlies played in the last fortnight resulted in two victories and one loss, writes David Harris.

First up visiting Budleigh were beaten 67-44 with wins for Morrison Brown, Brenda Raistrick, David Harris, and Brian Clark (26-10) and Phil White, Alan Curtis, Neil Solomon, and Margaret Crompton (25-17).

Next, another home game and another victory as Severalls were seen off 69-42 with wins on all rinks; Margaret Brown, John Hill, David Harris, and Ann Clayton (26-11), Phil White, Pam Hunter, Jean Kesterton, and Brian Clark (26-16), and Betty Mitchell, Morrison Brown, Neil Solomon, and Margaret Crompton (17-15).

A visit to Madeira in Exmouth resulted in a 70-50 reversal with the lone Axminster winners being Margaret Brown, Alan Foster, Neil Solomon, and Bob Sherborne who did well to come from behind to win on the last end (18-17)!

Unfortunately there were insufficient numbers available for a fixture to be played at Donyatt!

The Ladies lost their County Foxlands game with South Hams (63-96) with the away rink of Joan Quick, Pat Whitworth, Jean Kesterton, and Judith Moffit doing very well to win 24-18.

The men lost their home friendly game with the strong DCIBA Presidents side (43-71) without quite managing a win on any rink, but it was all good experience!
