With no county matches in the past fortnight, only one Ladies' Foxland match and three mixed friendly games have been played!

The Ladies put up a good show against Padbrook Park in their first Foxlands match of the Season but lost narrowly (70-88) with a top rink of Kay Smith, Margaret Bartlett, Jan Parsons, and Chris Barber (22-19).

Axminster lost the first two mixed friendly games- first against Honiton away (46-94) with no winning rinks and then at home were narrowly beaten by the South-West Area Umpires (45-53) with the Ax best effort coming from Ossie Eke, Pam Hunter, Bob Sherborne, and Jean Kesterton who managed a 16-all tie.

Axminster then went on to gain a convincing win at home to Dawlish (90-43) with June Teale, Barbara Mowatt, Alison Glyde, and Margaret Crompton on top form (45-12).

This weekend the club held the annual 24-hour bowls marathon, organised by Ron Bicknel, which was a great success and thanks go to all those members who took part.
