The recent annual general meeting resulted in a few changes made at the club for the 2010 season and also included much discussion on the rewriting of the club constitution.

In summing up the 2009 season, the secretary thanked members for their support and the efforts of the chairman and other officials to maintain the standing of the club.

Despite it being a poor season results wise for the club, the secretary remained optimistic for the future. He thanked the new groundsman Brian Prior for all his hard work during his first season in charge, as well as those who assist on a voluntary basis.

The meeting, chaired by president Les Haynes confirmed John Isles in the chairman's role with the ever-present Geoff Enticott continuing his long service as secretary.

Les Haynes, who is also finding it hard to leave his post offered to carry on as fixture secretary and was duly elected. Veteran Paul Miller was elected as 1st team captain with Nick Taylor as his vice captain. Paul will be doing his utmost to turn around the fortunes of the club after the poor season in 2009.

The club has resources created through the long standing junior section but there is a need for more experienced players to help take the club forward.

The club are not necessarilyy looking for 'top class' cricketers - although these would be very welcome - but those with experience who could encourage the many juniors now playing.

Mark Enticott continues as third eleven captain with youngster David Gadsden as vice. The captaincy of the 2nd and 4th teams will be decided, finally, at a meeting in the new year. Youngsters Ben Fuzzard and James Mitcham have offered to look after the Sunday XI.

The junior section of the club has again seen an increase in membership and, with several club members attending coaching courses during the winter, club coach Dan Murnane anticipates having more assistance to spread the load during the winter and summer training sessions.

Kirsty Wackley was able to report a successful season for the ladies, who finished second in the Devon League, but the members were disappointed to hear that she could not continue as captain next year. The ladies section will also be seeking additional members to maintain their position as one of the leading teams in Devon.

Information on the club can be obtained from the secretary and, in relation to the junior section, head coach Danny Murnane. The Colts continue their training sessions at the Axe Valley Sports Hall and details will be available soon for the times of adult practice.
