The club, which only started 12 months ago in March 2017, now has 190 members with age range running from three to 15 years.

The club recently took part in their first competition and 21 club members from four years to 13, attended the English Riviera competition, held at the South Devon Gymnastics Club.

The young gymnasts covered themselves in glory as they were up against many far more experienced in competition gymnastics representing some top south west clubs!

The Axminster gymnasts returned to East Devon with 11 gold medals, 16 silver and 13 bronze!

Axminster club coach Emma Prior said: “It was a tough competition for our youngsters – especially as it was our first such event – but I must praise each and every one of the members who represented us in South Devon.

“The club are proud of every single gymnast and we are thrilled to come away with such a good medal tally for our first competition.”
