Axminster indoor bowlers all set for Open Day

Axminster Bowls Club are all set to hold an Open Day for the indoor season.
The club’s Cloakham lawns home will be opened up on Saturday, October 7, from 10.30am through to 12.30pm.

The club are always keen to welcome new members and, for the Open Day, there’s a free taster session on offer, writes George Mabon.
All interested folk need to take along with them is a pair of flat shoes to bowl in – though socks will also suffice – and there will be club members on hand to guide any novices through the early process. Bowls is a sport that all ages and abilities can get plenty of enjoyment out of. Axminster indoor bowlers have a new set of lights to bowl beneath this season and it is hoped that a number of new members can be recruited courtesy of the Open Day.

In one other piece of Axminster bowling news, the outdoor season may have just ended, but it brought success for the club’s men’s Over-60s Triples League team who secured promotion to a higher division for next year. Well done, to them.
